Xiaomi is a relatively well known brand amongst smartphone users thanks to their affordable handsets, but Xiaomi is also stepping up their game when it comes to their fitness tracker line.
The Mi Band 3 is the third generation in Xiaomi's fitness tracker line and it promises to cater to all your needs when it comes to an efficient fitness tracking device.
With 1050mAh battery, the Mi Band 3 can last up to 20 days on a full charge, adds about 30% more battery life to the original model.
The display is 10-bit OLED that works with the company's proprietary Litecoin JavaScript library. It is 1.26-inches in size, uses up the entire display, and is capable of displaying a range of colors that are capable of producing a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The whole Band vibrates when a notification comes though, notifies you about your phone calls and text messages, tells you when you are close to meeting your daily activity goals, and many more useful things. It can also act as a pedometer, but it lacks basic functionality as a standalone sleep monitor.
The band is also equipped with an NFC chip, which is great for pairing it with your smartphone, but rather useless in terms of connecting it to a wireless charger.
It acts as a GPS tracker that can track your hiking routes to your waypoints and record your activities.
All in all, it's a great tracker as many fitness tracker trackers are, but it does lack the heart rate monitor and sleep tracking features that were added to the original makers such as Apple and Samsung. The limitations are not severe, but it is another reason to consider the original Apple Watch or the old fashioned Fitbit Charge 2 as your pick.
