  • Variety of poses
  • Nice material that is fairly durable

The NewMe Fitness Instructional Yoga Mat is both thinner and a bit wider than traditional yoga mats, which makes for a much better experience when you are on your mat.

It is a little thinner and a little wider than the average yoga mat. The width allows for a little extra cushion which is a nice addition. This makes for a much more comfortable experience as you are using it.

The front side of the mat has a few yoga illustrations printed on it, which makes it easy to remember the poses when practicing alone.

The thickness of the mat is a decent balance between comforting and enough cushion to make the exercise feel less like exercise. This allows for a better yoga experience by maximizing the comfort of your practice.

It is not too thin and not too thick. The ideal thickness is between 5 and 7 millimeters. Keeping it just a tad thicker helps to increase the padding but without making it so thick that it's noticeable. Keeping it at this thickness allows for the comfortable cushion to maintain some bounce back when practicing leaner yoga poses.

The material of the mat is safe to use in the kitchen as it has been stated as being free of chemicals that other yoga mats have. It also has a short odor that quickly dissipates, which is good for practicing in the kitchen.

The NewMe Fitness Instructional Yoga Mat is a definite improvement to the average yoga mat. The slight increase in thickness is great for beginners as it allows for more ease when adapting to a new type of surface. Keeping it the same width as a traditional yoga mat is a nice addition as that width allows for the correct amount of cushion when holding and balancing poses.

The only down side to this mat being printed with poses is that it is a little harder to wash with some tiles like the ones pictured. Because it is printed, the ink tends to try to hold itself to the mat in a few places creating those little magnetic areas. Washing them off will be a bit more difficult as the current technical specs suggest that washing will create abrasion and cause permanent markings. However, washing small amounts every couple of months shouldn't incur any permanent damage, and washing it more regularly than this shouldn't cause any damage.
