History of Yoga Blocks

They also smoothed into various forms easily, which allowed them to be constructed into many different shapes.
The most common stone used in modern yoga blocks is the "river rock." This type of stone is found in rivers along the coasts of the United States. This type of rock, is common and is easily formed into blocks. Yoga blocks have been made in the United States for around fifty years in the present day. Most of the yoga blocks used in the U.S. are molded from river rocks that originate from the upper Mississippi River.
The majority of the yoga blocks you buy for home use will be made with EVA foams. This is because they are readily available and inexpensive, are lightweight and durable, and maintain their form over time without absorbing sweat and moisture from the skin. Although they are easy to use because they have the right weight, they are not the best choices for beginners because they are slippery when your hands are sweaty.

Resin is an alternative for wood, providing a stronger grip.
Problems you can face with wood blocks are that they deteriorate and stain with time, so it is better to keep them out of the direct sunlight.
